Qt | Smart Oven
The Qt development platform was used to design and develop an interface project for Smart Oven where the set of graphics, interaction modes and code were designed in a modular way to be declined in four different prototypes aimed at covering different market targets with attention to return the best user experience on each prototype.
Industry trend research and user analysis.
The development of a new interaction system always starts from a deep analysis of the most relevant trends and characteristics available on the current and future market. The reason for this research is that the context of human-machine interaction in consumer electronics in appliances in particular is rapidly evolving.
UX Design | User experience definition.
Adaptability and reuse are the core concepts of the project architecture. The goal is to create an interface that allows you to develop the components once and reuse them from time to time redesigning them to better adapt to different screens.
UI Design | Graphical interfaces and prototyping.
Once we realized the wireframe of the flows for the four target displays we realized the system of the graphic elements that were used to create all the screens of the oven and the app.
Testing & Redesign
Before going into development, we made a test with real users to verify the effectiveness of the solutions designed through an interactive prototype. The result guided us to improve some graphic and logical aspects implemented in the redesign process.
Demo development and application.
Our development team took over the System design and turned it into a working product, or rather four products, using Qt for MCU and Qt full framework depending on the characteristics of the target hardware. The demo has been integrated in a touch display to simulate the real behavior on an oven. The companion app was developed for Android and made compatible for testing connectivity between smartphone and oven.
Promotion
To present the project at best, we took care of the realization of the Video that contains in little more than a minute the whole work done with the intent to promote the effectiveness of Qt as a solution to develop embedded systems with super functionality and great visual impact.
